Mijas van Ésteém

Mijas van esteem were formed in 2010.
The band consists of photographer, artdirector,
and musician.

We attempt to form distinctive style,
something different from any ordinary bands.

After creating an artwork, the musician perform
the idea and make up music. 
The process usually works in the opposite way.

We wish that with this work process and approach,  
one would realise and appreciate the special "something" 
in music which is usually just taken for granted.

In this world moving rapidly into the digital era,
what can artwork do to the ever swelling audience's imagination?

We are presenting you with this question based
on the idea shown in the artwork.

フォトグラファーとアートディレクター、ミュージシャンがバンドを結成した。ただ、それぞれが楽器を担当するわけではない。

このバンドが一風変わっているのは、アートワークを作った後に、ミュージシャンがそこから発想を得て、曲を作り上げていくという、通常とは全く逆のプロセスを経ていることである。

そうして生み出された作品を通じて、あなたがこれまで数々の名盤とともに手にした、美しい音楽体験を顧みることができる。

音楽を取り巻く状況が急速にデジタル化に向かう今、データに埋め込まれたアートワークだけでリスナーのイマジネーションを膨らませる事が出来るか、という疑問を、アートワークを着想の元とする事で提示してみせている。
